How Systems Will Support You

While it may not be fun or sexy (unless you’re a nerd like me🤓) systems are essential for your business to grow and maintain.

Even if you haven’t written them down yet.. you DO have systems within your business.

When you're building your business and going going going, it can be challenging to take the time to write down or map out systems.

Or hey, maybe you're in the camp of 'I just don't want to'!

No judgement, we've all been there in one form or another.

I do, however, want to talk about how beneficial and empowering it will be for you to take the action and write down your systems and processes.

Or, if you're feeling like you don't have a system - the importance of taking the time to really be intentional and create a blueprint of where you want to go and how you want to get there.

Either way, know that you, your vision, your dreams and your business are worth taking the time to gift this step to you.

And here's why, my friends!

Scalability

When you are intentional about what you want and where you need to go - having a system in place to support you in that will allow your business to sustainably scale. These two go hand in hand.

This is because as your business grows, you will inevitably need to add more employees, contractors, processes and of course clients!

By having the systems in place, you can scale your business more efficiently and effectively - which is ultimately the goal right?! To have your business seamlessly support you in your vision?

Once you've got one system on lock down, you can then replicate it across different parts of your business! No need to reinvent the wheel. If something is working for you and getting you where you want to be - keep doing it! This will enhance consistency and efficiency.

Consistency

When your systems are written down and fully implemented, they provide you, your team and your clients with a standardized consistency. Everyone knows what is expected of them and how to achieve it - which is not only rewarding, it is also very clear. Win win, my friend!

When there is consistency within your business, that also provides you with a more reliable and predictable output - this increases customer satisfaction while also building trust.

As annoying as this statement can be at times, it holds a lot of truth - consistency IS key.

Efficiency

Systems help you streamline processes in your business, plain and simple.

By defining, documenting and automating your processes, you can eliminate redundancies and reduce errors with the added bonus of saving time and money!

And who doesn't love that?!

Knowledge Management

Having documented systems allows you to share and manage knowledge within your business. By writing out the processes and procedures, everyone will be on the same page about what they need to know while also setting clear expectations with a referenceable guidance.

This helps everyone!

It also allows business to continue to flow if a key employee or contractor leaves.

Continuous Improvement

Now hear me out on this one!

Systems really do provide a framework for continuous improvement. By tracking and →analyzing← the data, you can easily pinpoint areas where your business can improve. Especially if you set up your systems to give you the data you need to achieve the goals you've set.

With this information you can make changes to your systems to optimize your processes and get better results. That's the goal, right?! Continually improve to achieve better results?

In conclusion

Systems provide an overwhelming benefit for every business that really empowers you as the owner. The best part is that they will look different for every single business because no two business need the same thing. This is the beauty in it all - the customization to fit specifically to you!

So let me know - what is the system within your business that you're most proud of?!
